Hello again!

I know it has been a while since my last post. Student teaching proved to be extremely time consuming and also very rewarding! Below I am sharing a sampling of many other projects I completed in the remainder of my practicum. In the late Spring, I had 3 interviews as well as a demo lesson. In the end, I was not a chosen candidate for a position. I am devoting my time this school year to working on some jobs for Meri B's design (my mural painting business), substitute teaching in two school districts, volunteering in my daughter's first grade classroom and being the best mom I can to both my girls.

I check job postings on a daily basis and remain hopeful that one day, in the near future, I will get the opportunity to teach art to children!

Discovering being a teacher of Art.....

Hello Web World, my name is Meridith Buono....otherwise known as Mrs. Buono-

I just completed the halfway mark to my student teaching practicum. I am in a school in central MA K-3. So far it has been an incredible journey. I am finally learning not only the students names, but their little personalities as well. It is amazing that you can see their character in their artwork. I have now completed three of my own lesson plans, and am starting more! Hopefully these will be only a few of many in my career. Here are a few photos of some of the work from the little artists....

This was a two class Kindergarten project on primary colors and pattern first, then we talked about composition and how your eye travels all around the paper.

This was another two class Kindergarten project on torn paper collage, and then secondary colors -with a review of composition.

I have a display for my college going up this week with my other first grade project on Australian Bark Painting...photos to come.
